Even if you don’t have the best gear, if you refine your game play, you can amaze many and survive impossible odds. Precision of when to use cool downs of trinkets, racial abilities and working with bonuses that proc, all these can lend an edge to whomever or whatever you are fighting.

Normally with maxing out professions you can reap extra benefits. Jewel crafting trinkets, blacks mithing and enchanting which give extra socket bonuses, and tailor, inscriptioning and leather working add to enhancements for your gear. Keep an eye out about which cool downs work in conjunction with other cool downs. If you have two trinkets equipped and both share a cool down, you are sacrificing one for the other.

Never underestimate a good sidekick, either. If you’ve perfected your skill and your gear, having a healer in tow or tank to take the punches, is always a good strategic move. Know your terrain in boss fights and what phases they do so you can prepare accordingly. Case in point: never bring a frost mage into a fight against a Frost Lord. Chances are it’s a bad mix.
